Flight Book 1 in the Ceramia Trilogy eBook Sherry Taylor

Murderous uncle, magical portal, talking animals and demons from the Underworld. It's enough to drive any sane person crazy.
In a small town at the base of the Uintah Mountains, best friends, Kiera and Dustin, are running for their lives. After barely escaping strange creatures that can only be described as demons from Hell, they discover their parents have been murdered by Kiera's biological uncle, Exar, and he is now after them.
Not knowing where else to go, they hide in the only place they can think of.
The cave.
No one ever goes near the cave.
While hiding inside, they unravel the mystery of a portal and are whisked away to another world where they find they have magical abilities.
But this is Exar's world, and he still wants them dead.
This is book 1 in the completed Ceramia trilogy and ends in a cliff hanger.
Flight Book 1 in the Ceramia Trilogy eBook Sherry Taylor
A charming adventure with characters I can relate to, even if some are animals. There is plenty of action which should satisfy most adventure lovers and enough personal interactions between the characters to appeal to those who don't. It is not flighty like some Young Adult novels, nor is it filled with bloodlust. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, though I wish it was a bit longer since I love saga's.Others have criticized the book for the cliffhanger at the end, but I think Sherry wrapped up the book quite well and left us a glimpse into book 2. There is a teaser chapter at the end also.
Four and a half stars mostly because of the minor edits that still need some correcting and the brevity of the book.

Flight Book 1 in the Ceramia Trilogy eBook Sherry Taylor Reviews
This book has it all. Everything from comedy to death to demons to love. It is an incredible story line that makes you love the characters. It is age appropriate. There is nothing risqué so young people can read it, too.
I rarely read this genre, but tried this book because I knew the author in high school. From the description of the book I was afraid it was written for a young adult audience only, but once I started reading I was immediately drawn into the story and didn't put it down until I had reached the end. A good read I gave it 4 stars due to some minor proofreading errors that I found a bit distracting.
At times a lift!e difficult to follow, particularly the fight scenes. Good characterization. Creative situation with two connected worlds. Of course I loved the talking animals, at times the had the smartest dialogue!
This story was very fun. It was action packed, and full of adventure. I had a fun time reading it, the characters are fun and well developed. I really had to see how things work out, but then it leaves you wanting more. It is clean, and would be appropriate for a 5th or 6th grader, although as an adult I enjoyed it a lot.
Fun read.
Hate a book with no ending!! Some time you can not afford the next one!!dad to be living in social security!!
I haven't read a series in awhile that actually kept whispering to me to keep reading after I put the book down. I loved the characters, plot, and read the whole series in about 5 days. I highly recommend if you like adventure, colorful characters, and magic!
I will admit that I'm not normally a fan of the fantasy genre. As a measure of full disclosure, I will put that I got this book on a free download, and that I am personally acquainted with the author, who has worked long and hard to publish this novel and the ones that follow. This is not an off-the-cuff self-published book, as suggested by another reviewer. Yes, it contains elements of conflict and magic, etc. (Hello! That's what it says in the book description, so it should not come as a surprise to anyone to find them in the book.)
I would rate this book at a little more than a 4, but I had to round off. There were a few typographical errors that were missed by the editor; not a big problem like in some books where the spelling is so atrocious that I can't get past the first page. The language is clean, so it's a kid-worthy book. There is a lot of violence if you're opposed to that sort of thing. People and creatures die in bloody battles. I wasn't too crazy about the cliff-hanger ending. I would much prefer to have this "episode" mostly wrapped up before venturing into the next "episode." Instead, it just sort of stops with a "to be continued" closing.
On the plus side, the characters were well-defined and developed. The descriptions of the action and plot drew me in, and in some places it was a real page-turner. I enjoyed the interactions between the humans and the other creatures and life forms, and how they interact with each other.
This author has a real potential and a great talent for writing. This is a terrific first novel! Well done, Sherry!
EDIT 10/23/14 I proofread this book for the author so most (if not all) of the editing issues should be corrected. Great book, Sherry!
